The Moon's a Balloon

This new? Simpson's episode I rather feel recognises some of the SynchrMystic stuff going on of late. I shall watch the episode again and fill u in. Nevertheless it ends with a cruise ship going off into the Moon-set to become a hot-air balloon type apparition as it merges into the end credits. What the Blue thing in the centre is, I know not. Anyhow , the image -

The Moon Is A Balloon and David Niven was a very interesting Mason.

Hi Dave So. It was a fave book of my Mum, it had her in stiches. David Niven certainly has the synchro-movie status, appeared at Rainier and Grace kelly's funeral. Who knows what kind of info-gathering a man such as he might have achieved, doubtless no slouch.
Any pointers?

His role in military intelligence, friendship with that occult-spying nexus made flesh which is Flemming ... where shall we start?

Would there be any films that might raise a knowing titter from your good self, that ties in with an 'unconnected' event, if of course he 'did' that type of thing.
I assume that if 'they' all went to the same sort of schools, played tennis, attended parties there must at least be crossovers wher in fact the whole of 'that' society acts as one, a bit of acting, spying, cricket, writing the odd film script.
A new book perhaps?

Let's just start with the orignal Casino Royale. BTW, we call them THE OLD BOYS.

I read the book and half remember the Niven film version, Starnge that it should be made as acomedy as I feel its quite a cruel story, no redemption.
Were we being informed of SMRSH as something real, something that we should wake up to, or struck with fear of invisible agencies. The Old Rosicrucian Fama game which surrounded dear Dr.Dee all those many years ago, himself resurrected numerically as 007.
Old Boys transcending time? Or more mundane.

Some of us feel the Old Boys have been around for a very long time and there grip is no weaker now.

SMERSH was real as was Flemming's desire to promote through its use in the novels certain ideas of the shadows. One interesting element is the alchemical transformation of SMERSH into SPECTRE for the films.

Alan Watt actually quoted Niven's title The Moon is a Balloon on his Jan. 2nd blurb!Interesting...as we have been down this road months ago.

Thanks!!!
